For the there’s no time exhibition for Metis 2004, curator Merryn Gates brought together performance artists Ellis Hutch working with Christina Merry, and Barbara Campbell working with Helen Aitken Kuhnen and other local and interstate artisans, to explore notions of time through their respective performances. Whilst performance art is located predominantly within contemporary visual art venues, this project shifted the emphasis towards the contemporary craft sector and opened up discussion on the nature of the object as concrete-craft, the object as ephemeral-performance and the object as ritual-time.
