In 2009 Barbara Campbell began her News Haiku project, looking for buried haiku in the pages of the local newspapers of the cities she visited. The outcomes took different forms: exhibitions in Hobart, Adelaide and Sydney; t-shirt printing workshops in Hobart, Adelaide, Hong Kong, Perth and Sydney; a web-streamed performance in Bergen Norway; and in London, the publication of an artist book (number 24 of the Piece of Paper Press imprint) for which she plundered a week’s worth of the Guardian and Observer.
