The Grimwade Effect (image — Barbara Campbell)
As a Macgeorge Fellow in 2002, Barbara Campbell was invited to undertake an activity that, in the terms of the bequest, would be for the benefit ‘students of the Faculty of Arts with special emphasis on those studying fine arts, literature, history of philosophy’. Campbell’s activities took her in those directions and in many more, bringing to the fellowship a strong sense of the interdisciplinary thinking that has swept campuses in recent years. Campbell approached the university as a whole as an archive: an institution overflowing with histories, memories, collections and artefacts.
Foreword to catalogue by Dr Chris McAuliffe, Director, Ian Potter Museum of Art.
